Postage stamps King Willem I
Commissioned by PostNL, my class was given the opportunity to design a stamp on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of King Willem I. I made my own stamp, but also made a contribution to the stamps that are in the shops.
The design process of the stamp has taught me a lot: critically look at my own work, scrap ideas and, above all, persevere. I have worked out every detail down to the last detail and that has led to the best result of high quality that I am proud of.
The stamps feature the letter "W" for Willem, the Military Order of Willem, and the Netherlands, with the silhouettes of King Willem I and his wife Wilhelmina forming a sort of canal, as he was known as the "Canal king". Together, the stamps form the Dutch flag.
